Yacht and Ship Surveys and Appraisals
Our company provides a consultation service that oversees inspections of new vessel construction (progress reports), from start to sea trial and delivery. The objectives of a new yacht or ship inspection is as follows:
• Check construction stages to make sure vessel is to contract specifications.
• To discover warranty problems and get them corrected prior to taking delivery.
• Final quality control check to locate flaws and other defects.
• Locate substandard conditions in structure, system design and construction.
Sea Trials A "Sea Trial" is a critical and important part of evaluating a vessel, it's performance and it's systems. General vessel and engine performance, handling characteristics and in-service system operations can be assessed and reported on. Many aspects of performance can only be determined during operation and experience allows comparative analysis.

Marine Facilities Surveys
This inspection is carried out to determine if a boat yard is secure. We will let you if all flammables are stored properly and if all the boats are stored properly. We can also inform you as to the condition of the slips and of the shore power properly installation. International Marine Experts can survey nearly every component of your marina.

Draft / Deadweight Surveys Reports
Draft surveys determine the weight of the cargo aboard the vessel. A draft survey can save substantial costs for the interested party. These surveys are done to determine the quantity of a bulk cargo loaded/discharged by reading the vessel's drafts, measuring the ballast water, fuel & diesel oil and other liquids on board, and calculating the final quantity by using the vessel's approved dead-weight scales and tank tables. We also perform deadweight surveys to determine the amount of cargo a vessel could have loaded if all the available space was utilized to determine the loss of freight due to short shipment of cargo.

Delivery Inspections
When taking delivery of a new boat from a boat builder or dealer, it makes sense to have a Delivery Inspection performed before making your last payment. IME will provide you with a detailed report with a punch list, so that you and the builder or dealer knows exactly what needs to be done before the last payment will be made and title is transferred.

Condition and Value Survey
This is often called the "Insurance Survey", this is in itself a detailed inspection. Its primary focus is on any condition which could lead to sinking the vessel, causing a fire or endangering the crew. This assessment is performed to enable the insurance Underwriter to evaluate the vessel's insurability and risk assessment. The main focus of an Insurance Survey is on structural integrity of the boat and safety.

Pre-Purchase and Appraisals
Pre Purchase is a comprehensive inspection when purchasing a new or used vessel. It is a complete inspection of the vessel to ascertain it's condition as to overall operational capability. This report includes:
• Operation of all equipment and systems while the vessel is in the water (electrical systems, navigation systems, propulsion systems, fuel systems, all machinery and electronics).
• An out of water inspection of the running gear and a sounding of the hull.
• Complete inspection of the whole interior structure where accessible.
• Estimated local market value based on condition and general maintenance.
• Findings and recommendations.
This report is issued in compliance with boating standards set by Small Vessel Construction Standards as well as U.S. Coast Guard and I.M.O. Regulations if they apply.
We offer gasoline engine compression testing which in most opinions is critical when considering the purchase of a pre-owned boat or yacht. All engine cylinders are tested individually to determine wear and tear and how well the engines have been maintained. A complete survey and percussion sounding of the hull and decks will be required by your insurance company before obtaining a new policy.
We make appraisals to establish a vessel's fair market value and to report that value to a lending institution.
An accurate appraisal is arrived at after a detailed inspection of the vessel's systems and overall seaworthiness.
An appraisal is also sought in establishing the value of older boats, engines and other marine property designated for tax filing purposes.
